Correction and Retraction
Retraction by Author
Authors are expected not to withdraw submitted manuscripts once they have entered the editorial process, including peer review, editing, and layout preparation. Withdrawal at this stage may disrupt the editorial workflow and result in the loss of time and resources invested by the editorial team and reviewers.
If an author requests withdrawal after the editorial process has begun, the editorial team will evaluate the request in accordance with the journal's policies. The journal may require compensation for editorial work already completed, provided that such a requirement is established in the journal's official policies and communicated to the author.
Authors may request corrections to published articles when they identify errors, such as incorrect author names, affiliations, or other factual information. Minor corrections that do not affect the validity of the research may be processed without compensation, subject to editorial evaluation.
All official requests for withdrawal or correction must be submitted in writing to the editorial team through the author's registered email address or the email address previously used for correspondence with the journal. The request must explain the reasons for the proposed withdrawal or correction.
Retraction and Correction by the Editor
The editorial team of An-Nafis: Jurnal Ilmiah Keislaman dan Kemasyarakatan may initiate a retraction when there is clear evidence that a published article contains serious problems that undermine its reliability or violate publication ethics.
Retraction may be considered in the following circumstances:
-
There is clear evidence that the research findings are unreliable because of data fabrication, data falsification, significant calculation errors, or analytical errors.
-
The article substantially duplicates findings that have already been published elsewhere without appropriate acknowledgment or justification.
-
The article contains proven plagiarism or serious violations of academic integrity.
-
The research or publication involves serious ethical violations, including violations of applicable research ethics requirements.
The editorial team will assess the available evidence, communicate with the relevant authors when appropriate, and make decisions in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies and recognized scholarly publishing standards.
The editorial team may issue a correction when a published article contains errors that could mislead readers but do not invalidate the main findings or conclusions. Corrections may include inaccurate author names, affiliations, factual details, references, or other minor errors identified after publication.
All retraction and correction decisions will be handled transparently and documented appropriately. The journal will provide a clear notice explaining the nature and reasons for any retraction or correction to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
An-Nafis: Jurnal Ilmiah Keislaman dan Kemasyarakatan is committed to maintaining academic integrity, publication transparency, and responsible scholarly communication in accordance with established publication ethics standards, including the relevant guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
